Prope Solem Studio

Thoughtful design. Responsible engineering.

An intentionally small studio for ambitious website, product, and systems work.

Why Prope Solem

Near the sun.

Prope Solem is Latin for “near the sun.” The name reflects a simple principle: the more ambitious the work becomes, the more important the foundation becomes.

For now, the identity stays direct: a confident wordmark, clear typography, and no ornamental symbol competing with the work.

Principles

Standards that hold.

Ambition

Pursue work that moves beyond the generic.

Discipline

The work underneath matters.

Restraint

Complexity must justify itself.

Clarity

Clear thinking produces better work.

Stewardship

Build what serves the client rather than the studio ego.

Small studio

Fewer layers.
Clearer work.

Clients work directly with the people making the strategic, design, and technical decisions. The operating model stays intentionally small so communication remains clear and responsibility stays visible.

When a project needs a specialist, the team expands deliberately around the work rather than maintaining agency overhead for its own sake.

Tools + technology

Tools change.
Standards shouldn’t.

Technology is selected around the work: maintainability, performance, editor needs, integrations, and the client’s operating reality.

Real stack labels belong in case studies only when they add context. Tools are not evidence by themselves.
